Door Phone / Intercom
How the Door Phone and Door Station Works
- Visitor presses DOOR PHONE call button & your telephone(s) ring.
- Answer your telephone and talk to the visitor.
- If your DOOR STATION is fitted with a Door Lock Control, then using your telephone keypad you can unlock a door or gate or even turn on lights or a camera.
There are two components that are required for this door phone system to work.
- The first component is the DOOR PHONE which is usually positioned at your gate or door.
- There are two basic models of the Door Phone.
- "Surface Mount Door Phone" that is designed to mount directly onto any wall surface.
- "Flush Mount Door Phone" that is designed for a flat recessed fit into your wall surface. The Flush Mount Door Phone can also be fitted with a pin-hole video camera (not supplied with the unit).
- The second component is the DOOR STATION. The Door Station is what is used to connect your telephone line to the Door Phone. If you need to be able to unluck a door or gate (or turn lights on or off, etc), then selected models of the Door Station have inputs for Lock Controls. There is also a special purpose Door Station that can dial out to another number (such as to a mobile phone or to a guard station) so that the visitor can speak to someone when the office / location is unattended. Ideal for remote offices / warehouses.
